South Terras Uranium Mine

South Terras Uranium Mine, Cornwall’s only Uranium mine! Closed since the 1930’s South Terras, the mine it’s self is inaccessible however a few of the above ground structures including a chimney and settling pond remain. Built using rock from the mine itself the buildings are constructed of rock containing uranium ore.

There is a small fence around the site, we’d suggest you don’t cross this as there are deep water filled excavations to the side of the buildings. If your looking to make your Geiger Counter tick the highest readings appear further down the the dirt track.

Address:

South Terras Uranium Mine, about a mile southwest of St. Stephen. The mine is situated down a muddy track, with a couple of properties nearby. I’d suggest you park on the road and walk the last quarter mile.
