Bataan Nuclear Power Plant, Philippines. Built in the early 1980’s but not commissioned the BNPP gives you the chance to explore all parts of a nuclear power-station, including the control room, turbine hall and reactor vessel itself as your guided through the faculty by expert staff.
My visit (in May 2014) lasted a couple of hours, starting with a classroom explanation of the reactor design and technology, an explanation of the circumstances sounding nuclear power in the Philippines, followed by an extensive tour of the facility, and allowed plenty of time for photography.
There was a small cost to visit (in the region of 100 PHP per person, though this may vary by group size). You’ll also need to organise your own transport to get to the site, it’s around 2 1/2 hours drive from Manila so the easist option it so hire a local driver for a day.
